From the Pastor: February 2011

Opportunity

[op-er-too-ni-tee, –tyoo-]

–noun, plural -ties.

1. an appropriate or favorable time or occasion: Their meetingafforded an opportunity to exchange views

2. a situation or condition favorable for attainment of a goal.

3. a good position, chance, or prospect, as for advancement or success.

This year I want to further encourage you to use the opportunities given you here at the church for the advancement or success of your life of faith in Jesus.  Over the course of the next several months you will have opportunity to attend special workshops and events designed to grow our understanding of living the life of faith that we confess with our lips each Sunday morning.  We will explore how we live as Christians: faith-living, faith-giving, faith-serving.

Our first workshop starts January 26, one week from the date this newsletter is put out.  It will then run for the next four weeks, Feb. 2, 9, 16, and 23.  The time will be 7-8:30 p.m. each week.  Our first topic is “Living with God’s Word.”

Please don’t miss out on these opportunities to grow and learn with your pastor and church family.  The rewards will be immense if only you take the time to see what opportunity lies before you.
