Dear Friends in Christ,
Seems like “back to school” sales start earlier and earlier. As I write this, it is the first week of August and school supplies have been out for a couple weeks already. How depressing for children to go into the store and see that when they still have a month left of summer vacation! But I guess the reality is that school will be starting again sooner rather than later so we might as well get ready.
As September comes rolling in there are several educational opportunities that we have for children and adults alike. Our regular Sunday School sessions begin on Sunday, September 4, at 9:15 a.m. as the children will start in the Old Testament learning about Jacob’s family. Sunday morning adult Bible class continues its study of world religions. Wednesday morning class continues to look at different Christian denominations.
Beginning on September 7, at 7:00 p.m. we start a new learning event titled, “Living in God’s Family.” Topics will include, “Congregational Culture,” “Christ’s Church,” “Conversations in the Church,” and “Mission and Stewardship.” Hope to see you there.
